AVOIDING TRAVEL SCAMS

Everybody loves a vacation, especially one that's offered at an unbeatable price. Here are some tips to help identify - and avoid - travel scams.

TRAVEL COMPLAINTS

Even the most well-prepared travelers can encounter some problems during a trip. Here are some tips to help you get these problems resolved.

New Travel Requirements

Passports -- travelers to and from all International destinations including the Caribbean, Mexico and Canada are required to have a valid passport to re-enter the United States. No longer can you travel internationally with drivers license and birth certificate be valid.

We advisr that all passports be valid for a period of 6 months after travel is completed as some nations require it.

Remember, your passport is your most valuable travel document when you are in a foreign country. Keep a copy of your passport number in a safe, separate place and immediately report the loss or theft of your passport or visa to the U.S. embassy or consulate and the local police authorities. Sand, Sun & Savings as a service to our clients will keep a copy of your passport while you are traveling and assist with providing the needed information to the proper authorities on your behalf.

Make several copies of your passport, traveler's checks, credit cards, itinerary, airline tickets and other travel documents. Leave one copy with a relative or friend back home and carry one copy with you.

Take most of your money in traveler's checks and record the serial numbers, denominations and date and location of the issuing agency. Remove all unnecessary credit cards from your wallet. Be sure to carry your credit card company's telephone number in case your card is lost or stolen. Always report losses immediately.
